The challenge

New volunteers in a campus service scenario had to combine information from an email, a handbook, and a message thread. I redesigned the information sequence around what someone needed before their first shift.

My contribution

Research synthesis and content structure

The decisions

I compared a long reference document with a short first-week checklist. I chose the checklist as the entry point, with the reference information linked beside the action that required it. Each step has an owner and a completion signal.

The evidence

A synthetic walkthrough dataset compares five original tasks with the revised guide. The sample totals are 28 and 16 minutes. These invented figures demonstrate how a portfolio can explain a comparison; they are not customer research or measured business results.

The outcome

The concept includes a first-week journey, five task prompts, and a walkthrough plan. A real launch would require testing with new volunteers and checking the time spent finding the right information.

Limits and next steps

Put the essential action first. Keep policy detail available without making it the starting point.
