Project 03 / 3
Adjustable sensor bracket
Concept selection and drawing-review exercise

The challenge
A proximity sensor needed room for alignment after the surrounding enclosure was installed. I reviewed three mounting approaches and focused on the adjustment motion and tool access rather than the appearance of the CAD model.

The decisions
A fixed-hole plate was simplest to machine but offered no adjustment. A sliding rail added parts and cost. I chose a two-slot plate with a separate locating surface so the fasteners could lock the setting without acting as the only datum.
The evidence
The proposed concept combines two clamping slots with a locating edge. The stock photograph is reference imagery, not the bracket. The review checklist covers screw-head clearance, washer overlap, minimum edge distance, and access with the enclosure installed.
The outcome
I produced a preferred concept and a drawing-review checklist. Slot travel and final thickness remain sizing inputs for a physical prototype. No production improvement or completed installation is claimed.
Limits and next steps
Design the adjustment and locking sequence before finalizing the hole pattern.
